• Reservations
At Colton House we would like to have no rules but this is not practical, so, to give guests peace of mind and to ensure their booking is secure we need to confirm that a reservation, whether by word of mouth, letter, e-mail, fax or telephone, is a legally binding contract. This means that we are obliged to provide accommodation and a guest is obligated to pay for it. Except where otherwise agreed we require a 50% deposit at the time of booking.

  • Cancellations
If a guest has to cancel one or more nights stay with us (and for clarity moving, advancing or delaying a stay is considered as a cancellation) it is our aim to minimise the cost to them. If the room is re-let or 14 days notice is given then there is no charge and any money paid is refunded. If less than 14 days notice is given and we are unable to re-let the room then up to 50% of the cost of the stay will be charged. If less than 48 hours notice is give and we are unable to re-let the room then 100% of the cost of the stay will be charged. No matter when a cancellation is made we will always use our best endeavours to re-let the room.

We advise guests to seek travel insurance to avoid potential loss due to unavoidable cancellations.
